EMILY SHEFER, LMFT

Therapist

Emily (she/her/hers) is an empathic therapist who uses her sensitivity to form a connection with clients and help them to access their emotional depths. Drawing on her training in Psychodynamic and Emotionally Focused Therapy, Emily works with individuals and couples to gain understanding in how early experiences have shaped them, and use this insight to break out of patterns that aren't serving them. Because she doesn’t believe in one size fits all therapy, Emily also utilizes tools from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy, and Family Systems to best serve the needs of her clients. Through her time working in community counseling, intensive outpatient programs, and private practice, Emily has worked with those challenged

by symptoms of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and trauma. She especially loves working with those who are looking to gain a deeper understanding of themselves, their relationships, and their life's meaning.

Emily brings warmth, humour and creativity into the therapy room, as well as a deep respect for the people she works with.
